SERVICE MANAGER, MAYO CHESHIRE SERVICE?S

THE ROLE: We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager/Person in
Charge to manage, lead and develop our residential and respite centre
in Mayo while delivering a safe and quality service.
Operating out of a social model of disability, you will have
responsibility to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered
to meet the physical, psychological, and social needs of individuals
with physical and neurological disabilities availing of the service.
You will be required to establish and maintain relationships with
individuals that are based on respect and equality and that promote
their independence. You will provide professional leadership to the
frontline care support team. It is critical that when undertaking your
work that you do so in a manner that is consistent with Cheshire
Ireland?s values, operating ethos, and standards.

THE PERSON: The successful candidate will be a motivated and dynamic
person with strong leadership skills who is able to positively
influence people and events, foster a culture of understanding and
trust, and create team spirit. In addition, the successful candidate
will:

* Be in possession of a third level degree in a relevant discipline.
* Be in possession of a management qualification.
* Have 3 years of line management or significant supervisory
experience within the disability or broad personal social services
field.
* Have experience in the delivery of training to staff at all
levels.
* Can demonstrate evidence-based decision-making skills.
* Computer literate (knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook is
essential).
* Be in possession of the necessary documentation to work and live
in the Republic of Ireland.
* Be in possession of a full clean driving licence and willing to
travel to other Cheshire services, family homes for assessments, and
work outside of normal working hours where required.
* Have the ability to speak and write English fluently.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and
written.
* Ability to maintain composure in difficult or challenging
situations.
* Ability to demonstrate awareness of current developments in
inclusion and individualisation issues in Ireland and internationally.
* Ability to demonstrate awareness of good practices in the
provision of person-centred services and sensitivity to the issues
experienced by people with physical disabilities and neurological
conditions.
* Full knowledge of HIQA national standards as they pertain to
adults with physical disabilities.
